The Space
“A space like this encourages creators to keep going.”
The Practice Room
The Practice Room is a spacious, warm, light-filled sanctuary space nestled in Toronto's vibrant Queen West neighbourhood. It is a space intentionally designed for artists to gather, imagine, rehearse, and create. Spanning 1,500 square feet, the studio is grounded by warm wood floors and abundant natural light streaming through generous south and west-facing windows, offering an atmosphere that is both energizing and restorative.
This is a space for artistic development in all its forms. We host a variety of affordable classes and free community practices, inviting artists to explore new ideas, strengthen their practice, and recharge with each other. The studio has be used for rehearsal, research, experimentation, and quiet creative inquiry - our intention is to support both individual and collective processes with care and purpose.
The studio is also available for short-term rentals and is thoughtfully equipped to meet the evolving needs of artists. Amenities include a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and kettle, a private bathroom, and reliable WiFi. A versatile selection of lighting options, seating, long tables, and yoga mats allows the space to adapt to many artistic disciplines and working styles.
Located on the third floor (Room 302) at 688 Richmond, The Practice Room West is accessed via a staircase with twelve steps between the first and second floors, with elevator access from the second to the third floor.
Above all, The Practice Room is a place of possibility. An open, welcoming environment where artists are encouraged to develop work, take creative risks, and nurture their practice in community.
“The space enables community and connection.”
