Floorwork Morning Practice with Natalia Arancibia
Class Overview: If you want to dive into softness and build up through momentum and beats, this is it. Sessions are based on concepts of release, flying low, puzzle work, physics and somatic practices; we will learn drills, safety tips, build up strength and work on coordination so we can come in and out of the floor, find non vertical pathways, and become more aware of our bodies and the space we use and move through.
Instructor: Natalia Arancibia (she/her) is a Chilean creator, performer and educator based in Tkaronto, with a deep interest in the instinctive movement of bodies and nature. As a dancer, she focuses on the continuous flow of energy and motion, allowing her body to express freely within its natural rhythm. This focus shapes her choreographic practice, where she aims not only to tell stories but to create immersive experiences that provoke emotional responses in the audience. In her role as an educator, Natalia adopts a soft approach, offering meaningful guidance within contemporary practices, especially floor work, where she emphasizes efficiency and organic movement. Beyond dance, she is intrigued by the intersection of media arts and architecture with movement, seeking to enhance audience experiences through this fusion. Passionate about community building, Natalia is dedicated to creating inclusive spaces that connect people through movement. She is currently part of the Dance Makers’s curatorial programme supported by “Critical Distance”.
