SCENE STUDY with Hume Baugh
Class Description: This class will concentrate on the definition of objectives and their importance as a fundamental tool for making the actor active; on focus on the scene partner as of primary importance in acting; and on the actor’s presence, in the sense of using your self in your work as part of seeking truth and authenticity, among many other aspects of the craft of acting. The class will be small, gentle, and fun.
Instructor: Hume Baugh is an actor, director, writer, and teacher. He has worked as an actor for 43 years, in Toronto and across the country. He has appeared at the Stratford and Shaw Festivals, Canadian Stage, Tarragon, Factory, Passe Muraille, Theatre Rusticle, Threshold Theatre, Shakespeare in the Ruff, Festival of Classics, among many others. He is the author of The Girl in the Picture Tries to Hang Up the Phone, and Crush, which was nominated for Best New Play in the Independent Theatre Division at the Dora Awards. He has taught at George Brown and Fanshawe College, and privately.
